帶著妻小一家4口前往韓國自助旅行的李姓竹科男，返國後發燒一度被懷疑感染MERS，10日檢驗結果出爐呈現陰性，證實未感染MERS，虛驚一場，且健康狀況沒問題已可出院。

39歲李姓竹科男從首爾自助旅遊返台後，出現發燒、喉嚨痛等上呼吸道不適的症狀，9日前往台北榮民總醫院新竹分院就醫，由於李男自述曾到首爾旅遊，院方不敢怠慢拉高防疫層級，並將他安排住進負壓隔離病房治療；10日李男退燒、症狀好轉，加上檢體報告呈陰性反應，排除染MERS。

主治醫師判斷，李男健康狀況沒問題已可出院，李男家人也已解除自主管理。

新竹縣衛生局昨天表示，MERS疫情雖多集中於中東地區以及韓國，但是仍有可能藉由民眾旅遊、商務等國際交流，增加疾病移入的風險，因此民眾除了避免前往當地醫療院所，並養成勤洗手、戴口罩等衛生習慣；若有前往相關國家，回國時就應主動通報，就醫時也應告知醫護人員旅遊史、職業史、接觸史及群聚史，以利加強感染控制相關措施。

新竹縣現有台大醫院新竹分院、台北榮民總醫院新竹分院、東元3家醫院設有8間負壓隔離病房，縣府已於本月3日成立防治MERS疫情緊急應變小組，5日通知各醫院提升感控管制，擴大宣導防範社區感染，也呼籲民眾勿過度擔心，引起恐慌。
