洛杉磯時報引用一項英國大學的調查顯示，有1/2到2/3的臉書使用者，曾經在臉書上觀察舊情人的情況，但這並不是個好方法，因為這會延緩情傷復原的時間。根據倫敦布魯內爾大學（Brunel University）社會科學學院心理系教授馬歇爾（Tara C.
